Labor Seder 2025
Coloradans for the Common Good’s Fourth Annual Interfaith Labor Seder on April 1st had a record turnout of 343 people at Rodef Shalom. Leaders from diverse faith communities, unions, and nonprofits, including representatives from various Jewish organizations participated. The honorees, Dr. Joyce Brooks and Marilyn Winokur (in photo above, top and bottom right), gave heartfelt speeches about how they became advocates for workers’ rights.
Evening highlights included workers telling their stories about fighting for dignity at their workplace, as well as medical residents seeking collective bargaining; tipped workers fighting attempted wage cuts from the legislature; and stage workers overcoming Colorado’s antiquated labor laws to form a union.
Also in the audience were Colorado’s Attorney General Phil Weiser, Denver’s Mayor Mike Johnston, State Treasurer Dave Young as well as other locally elected officials.
